Grinding minerals
The stones, which our supervisor Gernot searches for in the surrounding area, can be sanded by the children with their parents at our base camp.
Grinding is done with special grinding machines equipped with different grinding wheels to achieve the desired surface finish. During the grinding process, the different layers and patterns inside the mineral often become visible, which emphasizes its uniqueness.
